Application Report of Lejiao Yeast Accelerant (Protease) of Guangxi Baichen Biotechnology Co., Ltd.


From March 26th, 2019 to April 26th, 2019, the application test of yeast accelerant (protease) was carried out by Guangxi Lejiao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. in Guangxi Baichen Biotechnology Co., Ltd.


I. Test Objective: 

On the premise of the original alcohol production process, accelerant is added to the acidification tank, and the production indexes are compared with the original fermentation

process of the factory after adding the yeast accelerant, so as to verity that Guangxi Lejiao yeast accelerant can change yeast form, improve the sugar consumption rate of yeast and reduce the residual total sugar as well as residual reducing sugar of fermented mature mash during the process of cultivating distiller’s yeast and alcohol fermentation. Alcohol content of fermented mature mash will be improved and the economic benefits brought to the enterprise will be explained.

Note: Auxiliary materials such as urea and phosphoric acid were added in the original process, while are not added in the process of yeast accelerant adding.


II. Test Results:

1. The analysis and contrast of the raw material, molasses, in situations of adding Lejiao yeast accelerant and not adding it (see attached list 1)

(1) Through the comparison of the above original data, it can be seen that the total sugar content of raw material during using accelerant is lower than that while not using it by 0.32% and the non-sugar fermented sugar while using the accelerant is higher than that while not using it by 0.08%.

(2) Calculating according to the molasses mass above (based on 230 sugars/ton of alcohol),

(3) the molasses consumption per ton of alcohol while using accelerant is 4.78 tons and that while not using it is 4.73 tons.

2. Data comparison of mature mash between the occasions where Lejiao yeast accelerant is not used and used (see attached list 2)

The following analysis can be carried out via data comparison:

(1) On April 11th, during the day shift, yeast accelerant was added from the acidification tank ingredients. After April 13th, the mature mash fermented by Lejiao yeast accelerant was analyzed. In other words, calculation starts from 8:00 on April 16th to 22:00 on April 29th.

(2) The mature mash of not using accelerant was selected from the period from March 28th to April 11th. And the average value was calculated by the workshop of alcohol.

(3) Data comparison:

Residual sugar: Before adding accelerant, it was 2.76%, after adding accelerant, it was 2.69%, which decreased by 0.07%.

Alcohol content: Before adding accelerant, it was 10.6%, after adding accelerant, it was11.2%, increased by 0.6%.

Combining the above test results, while using accelerant, under the situation where the sugar content is low and the non-fermented sugar content is high in raw materials, thanks to the advantages of its effective ingredients, the accelerant manufactured by Guangxi Lejiao can balance the nutritional components of yeast, improve the nutritional environment for yeast production and metabolism, enable yeast growth and reproduction to reach a relatively ideal state, effectively convert glucan, starch, malt polysaccharide and the like in molasses into fermented sugar required by yeast, finally maximizing sugar utilization.


III. Analysis of Economic Benefits

1. Benefits analysis (analysis of monthly benefits)

(1) The average alcohol content of the mature mash produced by the original process of Guangxi Baichen Biotechnology Co., Ltd. used to be 10.6% (V/V), while turned into 11.2% (V/V) after using Lejiao yeast accelerant, increased by 0.6%.

(2) Based on the daily production volume of alcohol as 180 tons/ day, the monthly alcohol production is 5400 tons.

(3) Based on the feeding speed of distilled mature mash as 89m³/hour, the alcohol content is increased by 0.6%.

The daily increase in alcohol production volume: 83*24*0.6%*0.85=10.15 tons/day

The monthly increase in alcohol production volume: 10.15*30=304.5 tons/month

(4) Based on the unit price of alcohol as 5700 yuan per ton. 

The monthly increase in sales proceeds:10.15*30*5700=173.565 (ten thousands yuan)


2. Cost of yeast accelerant

Based on the consumption volume as 200 g/ton of molasses and the molasses amount consumed per ton of alcohol as 4.8 tons,

Then the amount of accelerant consumed per ton of alcohol:200*4.8=0.96kg

Then the monthly consumption amount of accelerant is: 0.96*5400=5.184 tons

Cost of accelerant:5.184*36000=18.6624 (ten thousands yuan)≈18.663 (ten thousands yuan)

The increased profit: 173.565-18.663=154.902 (ten thousands yuan)

The ratio between input and output is:1 to 8.30


3. Water, electricity, coal, environment-friendly water

The new alcohol producing process after adding yeast accelerant is equal to the fermentation of thick mash, which reduces the water consumption during production. If water consumed per ton of alcohol can be cut by 0.6m³ less, with 5400 tons of alcohol produced monthly, the water volume consumed can be saved by 3240m³ less. In this way, distiller waste liquor can be reduced, thereby relieving the pressure of waste-water treatment for environment protection. Similarly, if distiller waste liquor can be reduced by 3240m³, the distiller production time can be cut by 3240/83=39 hours. In other words, electricity and coal can both be conserved.


Based on the coal consumption per ton of alcohol as 0.9-1.1 ton/ ton of alcohol, and under the situation of 1 ton of coal/ ton of alcohol, the conserved

coal volume every month can be 304.5 tons.

Based on the electricity consumption per ton of alcohol as 347 kiowatt-hours/ ton of alcohol, the saved electricity can be 304.5*347≈10.6 ten thousands

kiowatt-hours.

Similarly, in terms of environment protection, due to the relieved pressure of waste-water treatment of 3240m³ and under the circumstance where urea or phosphoric acid is not used,

waste-water can be handled relatively completely.

Waste-water treatment in the original process of alcohol production: ammonia nitrogen content is 5~8mg/L and the total phosphor content is 0.5~1.0mg/L.

Waste-water treatment in the new process of alcohol production: ammonia content is 3~4mg/L and the total phosphor content is 0.4~0.6mg/L.


Conclusion:

Lejiao yeast accelerant produced by Guangxi Lejiao Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has effectively enhanced the sugar conversion rate of yeast. By improving the nutritional environment for yeast reproduction and metabolism, yeast growth and reproduction have reached a relatively ideal state. It has raised the alcohol yield on the basis of the same input of raw materials, reduced coal and electricity consumption and eased the pressure of waste-water treatment, thus increasing the economic benefits for the enterprise.
